HOW ENGAGING IS EMAIL MARKETING
As an SEO expert, the thing I dislike the most about email marketing is struggling with engagement. Getting your emails opened and read is always a challenge, especially when people are bombarded with hundreds of promotional messages every day. Here’s what I personally find tricky:
- Low Open Rates: No matter how great your content is, if your subject line isn’t compelling enough, your email will get ignored. Crafting subject lines that grab attention without being clickbait is a fine balance.
- Deliverability Issues: Even when your email list is clean, emails can still end up in spam folders, especially with more strict email filters. That means your hard work could go unseen by your audience.
- Keeping Content Fresh: It can be tough to consistently come up with new, valuable content that resonates with your subscribers. Sending out repetitive emails can lead to unsubscribes, which can hurt your list's health in the long run.
- Segmentation & Personalization: Not all your subscribers are the same, so figuring out how to segment them properly and personalize your emails without overwhelming yourself with too many lists is a real challenge.
- Measuring ROI: Sometimes, it’s hard to quantify the direct impact of email marketing on conversions, especially when email campaigns are just part of a bigger marketing strategy.
Despite these struggles, email marketing can be incredibly powerful when done right. It’s all about refining your strategy, testing, and learning from your audience’s behaviors to improve over time.
